What can I give my dog to treat their seasonal allergies?
I was in a dilemma for the last 5 years of having to pay $ 50 more for a seasonal allergy shot for my dog. Every year brought him to the vet his stroke and gets a little expensive. At first I was a little timid to try to give an actual drug use by persons (ie, Benadryl, etc.), but I'm starting to reconsider. I go to college and money is quickly becoming a problem. Does anyone know what treatment appropriate dose would be a Jack Russell Terrier weighing about 28 pounds?
My vet told me to give my dog Benadryl. A dog of 28 kilos probably only need half a tablet a day, unless you can find children's Benadryl and then give a low dose – my dog is 100 pounds and has two. It works quite well, and the only side effect is that it is a little less hyper, which is fine with me.
