What do you do with your dog/pet when you are ill?
I mean ill as in not in hospital but you are confined to your bed, don’t want to get up etc that kind of illness.
Also has anyone who was the sole owner of the dog ever broke a leg, how did you walk them.
this is purely hypothetical by the way i have family who look after my dog if this was the case i was just thinking what would happen.
This is a frightening subject for me. I am a single woman, no children, no friends that would help me out.
Last year I developed strep throat and pneumonia at the same time. I was as sick as I have ever been in my entire life. 103 fever for a week, I could barely drag myself out of bed. I couldn’t eat, I couldn’t talk. After a week I broke down and went to the emergency room- that’s where I learned what I had. They wanted me to be admitted, but I refused because I didn’t have anyone to take care of my dogs.
I even called a ‘friend’ and asked if she could pick up one of my prescriptions the next day bit no, she was too busy.
I pretty much stayed on the couch in a fevered haze. I fed and watered the dogs and cats, and left them out to potty, and that’s as far as I got. They didn’t get walked or played with, but they were OK. They largely stayed on the couch with me; Nick, my male Gordon Setter would stretch out ON TOP OF me when I was having chills, like he knew, and lay motionless until the shivering stopped.
It terrifies me to think of getting sick like that again, or even worse. I don’t know what I would do, to be honest.
